When Louis Pasteur said “Fortune favours the prepared mind”, it wasn’t meant for everyone because while opportunities present themselves to everyone, not all of us are ready to seize them.

But Jeffrey Ong Wee Ting was ever so prepared and has since worked his way up to become the general manager of Eco World International, a property development company in Australia.

At only 42, he is armed with 15 years experience in property consultancy and property development in Malaysia and Australia. His repertoire however is very diverse, having started his career as a civil engineer, followed by stepping into the food and beverage industry where he founded Juice Station, a healthy juice bar in Malaysia, and later resuming in property sales for some of the biggest players in Australia such as Setia (Melbourne) Development Company and Eco World Sydney Development.

He moved back to Melbourne to start Eco World Melbourne office in October 2015.

When recounting his career milestones, he said: “For Setia’s projects, I was mainly responsible for project development including apartment mix, floor plan design and finishes. I also strategised and implemented the sales and marketing campaign both locally and internationally as well supervised and managed the sales target and marketing budget.”

Among his key accomplishments were spearheading the completion of market research and development of pricing strategy for the Fulton Lane and PARQUE apartments in Melbourne which were launched in June 2011 and August 2013 respectively.

The development will cater to changing lifestyles especially for retirees and semi-retirees where they are provided with a range of exclusive services like concierge, home cleaning, home maintenance and even massage, personal care which also includes pet walking.

Now with Eco World Melbourne, his current biggest pet project is overseeing the development of Yarra One, a luxury multi-generational living concept in the heart of South Yarra.

It would indeed be a luxury to live in Yarra One, not only because it is situated in one of Melbourne’s richest and popular suburbs, but it will be the first green building in the neighborhood with top-notch amenities.

“Residents have access to a fully-equipped gym, exercise studio, outdoor spa, steam, sauna, resident’s lounge, private dining with a fully equipped kitchen, dedicated pet wash area, wine cellar, rooftop terrace with BBQ facilities all overlooking Melbourne CBD Skyline,” said Ong.

There will be 26 levels comprising 256 apartments with public transport close-by as well as the Royal Botanic Gardens, Albert Park and Fawkner Park within walking distance.

The apartments will be the first of its kind in Australia, and is due for completion in 2020.

Jeffrey Ong Wee Ting却对此做了充分的准备,并通过自身努力成为了澳大利亚房地产开发公司-绿盛世国际(Eco World International)的总经理。

现年42岁的他在马来西亚和澳大利亚具备15年房地产咨询和开发经验。然而,最初作为一名土木工程师开启职业生涯,他的历练却多样化,除了随后涉足饮食业,在马来西亚创立Juice Station-一家健康果汁酒吧。过后,他重返房地产领域,成为实达集团(Setia)墨尔本公司与绿盛世悉尼等顶尖开发公司的营销人员。

2015年10月,他迁回墨尔本,并启动了绿盛世墨尔本办事处。在谈到职业生涯的里程碑时,他说,对于Setia的工作项目,主要任务是负责项目开发,包括公寓组合、楼层平面设计和完工。

“我还制定和实施了本地与国际的营销活动,并担任监督者管理销售目标和营销预算。”

他的重要成就之一是为分别在2011年6月和2013年8月推介的墨尔本Fulton Lane和PARQUE公寓开发计划完成了市场调研和定价策略。

目前他在绿盛世墨尔本的重心项目是监督Yarra One的开发计划。这项在南雅拉(South Yarra)中心区域开展的多代概念豪华项目将迎合变化万千的生活方式,尤其是针对退休和半退休人员的日常策划,他们可享受一系列专属服务:如礼宾服务、家居清洁、维护保养,甚至按摩、个人护理包括宠物服务。

居住于Yarra One确实是奢华格调的代名词,不仅位于墨尔本最富裕、最热门的郊区之一,而且将是该社区中首家拥有顶级设施的绿色建筑。

“居民们可以使用完备的运动器材、健身房、室外水疗中心、蒸汽桑拿、休息室、私人用餐和设备齐全的厨房。另外,还有专门的宠物洗涤区、酒窖、顶楼露台和烧烤设施,尽情俯瞰墨尔本中央商务区的天际线。”

这栋26层高,有256间豪华住宅的公寓楼,交通非常便利,步行可达皇家植物园、艾伯特公园与福克纳公园。

上述公寓楼房将是澳大利亚首套类型公寓,预计将于2020年竣工。

One of the richest men in Australia, Michael Buxton is ranked on the Financial Review Rich List of 2017. Sixth generation developer and Executive Director of MAB Corporation, this good-natured personality is the tour de force behind Melbourne’s most established property conglomerate.

Creating beautiful cities in Victoria, MAB Corporation is involved in residential, retail, industrial and commercial developments, as well as fund management. NewQuay, Docklands and University Hill in Bundoora are some of MAB’s winning projects. In a joint venture with Gibson Property Corporation, MAB has just embarked upon its largest and most visionary development – Merrifield, a new city for Melbourne comprising more than 900 hectares located on the Hume Highway in Mickleham.

Making nationwide headlines Buxton recently donated his private contemporary Australian art collection worth $26 million to the University of Melbourne.  Inspired by legacies, not just acquisitions, he says, “Twenty-three years ago, I had a dream to develop a major, forward-thinking private collection that would demonstrate excellence in contemporary Australian art. To have Buxton Contemporary Museum designed by Fender Katsalidis Architects and located at the University of Melbourne’s Southbank campus, alongside the Victorian College of the Arts, amid such a major arts precinct, is better than what I hoped for.”

Melbourne is a very safe place to do business. There are good governance, healthy work force and well-planned cities.

That’s not the only collection this art connoisseur has amassed.  “I have three collections – one in Australia, another in America and a South East Asian collection in Sicily.  I just bought a 17th century hotel in Sicily and plan to transform the interior into a contemporary space featuring the best 26 artists from 26 different countries, in each suite.” Buxton recently redesigned his holiday home in Portsea. “We took out the tennis court to incorporate a Moroccan garden and a sculpture park featuring the works of David Mitchard, Callum Morton, Francis Upritchard and Jamie North.”

With an emphasis on the intrinsic values of life, Buxton describes himself as “a person who loves life”. He plays sports, golf, swim, surf, fish, scuba dive and has sailed around the world in his yacht Black Pearl. “We have worked very hard and become successful, but wealth is not that important to us.  We use our wealth very well to do good things so that we can leave some great things for the world.”

全国范围热络的话题是Michael Buxton最近以私人名义向墨尔本大学捐赠了价值2600万澳元的当代澳大利亚艺术收藏品。由于受到文化遗产的启发,他想做的不仅仅是收购。

“23年前,我有一个梦想,那就是开创一个大型、超前思维的私人收藏,展示澳大利亚当代艺术的优秀之处。而由建筑师Fender Katsalidis所设计的Buxton当代艺术博物馆,位于墨尔本大学南岸校区,比邻维多利亚艺术学院,比我所预想中的更好。”

当然,这并非这位艺术鉴赏家的唯一珍藏。“我有三个艺术收藏,一个在澳大利亚、一个在美国,还有一个东南亚收藏位于西西里岛。另外,我刚在西西里岛买了一家17世纪的酒店,打算把内部空间改造成一个当代艺术区,每个套房都有来自26个不同国家中26位最佳艺术家。”而他最近重新设计装潢波特西区的度假别墅。“我们把网球场分别设计成摩洛哥花园和雕塑公园,里面有David Mitchard、Callum Morton,Francis Upritchard与Jamie North的作品。”

Duo In Collaboration 协作二重奏

When the opportunity arose to join the CHT Network and be part of the EZ Australia magazine Luke O’Grady and Kevin Ng jumped at it. A network built around friendship very much aligns with who they are, how they connect with people and their philosophy with running their business.

Luke and Kevin started InCollaboration Projects in September 2017 out the back of a friend’s real estate office and today has grown into a dynamic client focussed property development and consultancy business aimed at assisting their Client’s to maximise their equity returns through a focussed approach to their development portfolio.

Both Luke and Kevin have had unique journey within the industry.  Luke come’s from a family entrenched in the property industry with his father John O’Grady recognised as a leading Commercial Valuer in the industry.  Luke’s journey started in retirement living before spending 7 years at Stockland.  He then joined a private built form development company to gain experience in medium density and high rise apartments and finally moving on to a local boutique project management consultancy.

Kevin was born and bred in Hong Kong, China before moving to Australia 20 years ago.  Kevin’s experience is diverse and he has navigated a career that includes private and public companies, different industry’s such as telecommunications and ‘infrastructure building materials’ before he found his feet in the property industry working with a local Chinese developer and then in the same boutique project management consultancy as Luke.

‘InCollaboration’ is an appropriate name, as it stands as the headline for how we operate, Luke said.

They aim to work collaboratively with their clients as partners. They also acknowledge that every developer is different, and every developer has different skill sets, so it is never a one size fits all approach. They aim to always provide a flexible service to assists developers deliver on their vision and development objectives.

Luke and Kevin’s core values are evident in their approach. Luke describes them as (1) to be fair and equitable, this forms the foundation of all their decision making, is this decision fair to the Client, to us, and to all Stakeholders. (2) there must be value in the service they provide, their Clients must always see value in what we do, and (3) to build trusting partnerships, they aim to build long lasting trusted partnerships with our clients, where we are considered not just a consultant, but an integral part of the team and in most cases, a friend.  They aim to simplify the complicated, communicate honestly and openly with the good and the bad, and believe in no surprises.

As a multi-disciplinary development company and consultancy, InCollaboration has nearly $1 billion worth of projects under management including master planned residential mixed-use developments, residential land subdivision developments, medium density apartment projects and townhouse developments.

It’s a privilege to be part of the CHT network and Luke and Kevin look forward to meeting more friends and like-minded people along the journey.
