From Economist to Metaphysical Healer

Grace Moy O_BrienGrace Moy O’Brien
Chinese Medicine Doctor, Naturopath, Counsellor, Metaphysical Healer

How does one make the switch from economist to metaphysical healer? Grace Moy O’Brien’s transition goes beyond a career change – it is instead a journey into self awareness and expanding consciousness.

Born into a typical and conventional Malaysian Chinese family in Penang, Grace went to Melbourne to pursue a Bachelor of Economics and a post graduate degree in Hospitality and Tourism. Upon graduation she started work as an economist and researcher.

But Grace’s personal journey is anything but conventional. From the age of four, Grace started having what she now knows as “Out of Body Experiences” (OBE), which is now a much researched phenomena. Grace kept her OBEs a secret for most of her adult years for fear of being ridiculed. However, her curiosity took her on a quest to learn more about OBEs, eventually leading her into the arena of neuroscience, and quantum physics.

Her work with neuroscientist Dr. Jeffrey L. Fannin, Ph.D, Dr. Joe Dispenza, quantum physicists Prof. Konstantin Korotkov and Dr. Dimitry Orlov (BioPhotonics/ ElectroPhotonics), has deepened her understanding of metaphysics and passion in exploring consciousness.

Grace says the turning point in her life came about following her mum’s death in a car accident in Malaysia. “This may sound crazy, but after mum died, I had a few encounters with her while I was having my out of body experiences. It gave me a lot of comfort and helped me come to terms with her death.”

“A life of freedom and knowing. Freedom from the shackles of matter, and knowing, which comes from experiencing the divine in you.”

She adds, “Think about this. When you die, you leave everything behind. The only thing you take with you is your spirit. Where you go after you take your last breath is dependent upon your state of consciousness. Is it then not logical to take care of and to know your true essence, which is your consciousness?”.

Her mum’s death and her OBEs propelled her to change her life, including, a career transformation. She went back to university, this time to study the Health Sciences, and now practices as an Acupuncturist, Naturopath, Counsellor, and Metaphysical Healer in Melbourne. In line with her passion to help others understand that they are more than just their physical bodies, Grace also runs workshops using neuroscience to demystify meditation and the exploration of consciousness.

“It is not enough to just believe, it is our responsibility to ourselves to conduct our own due diligence and experience our true essence, and thus graduate into knowing,” says Grace.

Personal Guidance System

Bill Bennett
Australian Film Director, Producer & Screenwriter

Bill Bennett’s life changed early one morning on a back street in New Orleans. He was driving, and as he approached an intersection he heard a voice which warned him to slow down. Fortunately he did slow down, because suddenly a huge truck ran a red light, hurtled through the intersection and missed him by inches. If not for that voice, he would have been killed.

The incident haunted him for years. He wanted to know three things: What was that voice? Where did it come from? Why was my life saved? Those three questions would finally compelled him to make a movie about his search for the meaning behind that voice.

For years he travelled around the world interviewing leading experts on intuition, covering the fields of science, religion and spiritualty. He spoke to neuroscientists and mystics, psychiatrists and saints and psychics – and the resulting film is now released in Australia and the US.

Called PGS – Intuition is your Personal Guidance System, the film discusses what intuition is, how it works, and how we can tap into it to make better choices in life.

For Bill, making the film changed his life, he says. He started out a skeptic, but by the end he was convinced that intuition is real, it works, and it’s a legitimate bodily system that acts to keep us safe from harm, and seeks to guide us on our life’s journey.

Bill now lives his life totally intuitively. He says he no longer makes decisions, he feels them. “When you make decisions, you use your intellect, your rational mind, and at times your ego,” says Bill.

“When you use your intuition and feel decisions – for instance when you trust your gut – you disengage from rational thought and you go with what feels right, not necessarily what your logic or intellect would say is the right thing to do.”

According to Bill, when you make decisions based on your intellect, you’re always pulling from what’s known, which is limiting. When you use your intuition, you’re accessing what’s not known, which is expansive. But it’s also scary, says Bill, which is why so many people don’t use their intuition, because of fear.

Bill’s film details five steps you can take to tap into your intuition – STOP, LISTEN, ASK, TRUST, FOLLOW.

“Trust is the biggie,” he says. “If you begin to trust your intuition on small things, when the big decisions come along, you can take advantage of your intuition.”

Bill Bennett

Cas Bennetto

Chief Executive Officer of Kimberley Foundation Australia

CEO of Kimberley Foundation Australia, Cas Bennetto holds her audience captive as she tells the story of the Kimberley rock art in Western Australia. “The Kimberley rock art is one of the world’s largest, most varied and visually spectacular body of figurative rock art, virtually unknown and unexplored.”

Her mesmerising English-accented voice is spellbinding as she weaves romantic tales of early human migration. “We’re the only foundation set up to look after, research, preserve and promote the Kimberley rock art. Carrying national and international significance, the story behind this rock art is the story of Australia’s earliest settlement 50,000 to 60,000 years ago. There are images of animals, lifestyle, climate condition, food and their beliefs. It is very important for Australians to adopt, not a Eurocentric view, but our very own deep understanding of this country.”

“The Kimberley rock art is one of the world’s largest, most varied and visually spectacular body of figurative rock art, virtually unknown and unexplored.”

Born in Tasmania, with English and Australian parentage, Cas graduated from the University of Melbourne and has held executive positions at Sydney’s Museum of Contemporary Art, the Australian British Chamber of Commerce and the Charles Darwin University before joining KFA as CEO. Cas holds a Master of Arts in Organisational Communication and was recently appointed a Trustee to the Board of Trust for Nature.

“Philanthropy is well understood in Melbourne.  Now the emphasis is on fundraising, marketing, social media awareness and raising the profile of the Kimberley rock art region which spans an area bigger than Germany.”

“We want all Australians to feel joy, respect and awe that the rock art is here and therefore it needs to be cherished”

Following the remarkable achievement in the establishment of the Chair in Rock Art at the University of Western Australia, KFA recently announced a new Chair in Archaeological Science at the University of Melbourne. “Both of these are Chairs in the perpetuity of rock art.  We have introduced rock art to Australia’s public consciousness, and now we face a huge task ahead of us in terms of promoting it.”

Australia’s earliest settlement story is the story of global human migration. Rock art can convey the story of Australia. “Indigenous Australians crafted the rock art and they are the primary custodians.  At KFA we want to instil deep interest and pride in this heritage. We want all Australians to feel joy, respect and awe that the rock art is here and therefore it needs to be cherished.”
