Helen Reizer
HR PR & Marketing of HRPR Public Relations & Event Management
When someone radiates positive energy, it becomes contagious and a gloomy day can have a bit of sunshine after all.
Helen Reizer seems to have that effect on people with her effervescent demeanor and smile. Known to and highly regarded to many as one of the top PR and events managers in Australia, Helen has a string of experience under her belt in this highly competitive industry.
She now runs her own company, HRPR after almost 30 years of working in some leading fashion companies locally and internationally.
“Fashion has always been something I love and I’m still involved with it now. I also do a lot of work with charities for the Royal Children’s Hospital, Beyond Blue, Children’s Tumour Foundation, Ovarian Cancer awareness and Diabetes research with Susan Alberti,” she said.
Her media networks are also impressive with a repertoire of celebrity work involved with high exposure publicity. Some of these include the participants of popular TV shows like My Kitchen Rules, Masterchef Australia, the Bachelor, Married at First Sight, to name a few.
For someone who’s already working her dream job, Helen first started her career after she graduated from a BA in fashion at RMIT and winning three fashion awards. She worked at Sportscraft as a visual merchandiser and became their National sales manager for Sportscraft Women and head of sales for the Sportscraft Petites Collection.
“I looked after David Jones, Myer and Daimaru Japan as well as department stores throughout Australia and New Zealand.”
In the 90’s Helen moved to London at only 27 and worked as the marketing manager for Susan Woolf, a high end UK women’s fashion designer. As Helen took charge of the PR and marketing for the brand, it successfully opened 28 stores in the UK and Europe within two years.
“We worked with amazing and highly driven people to make that possible. That was probably the peak of my career and I absolutely loved it. After eight years of working there, it was time to come back home to Australia to start a family, but I also continued my career here,” said Helen.
That’s when she founded HRPR and not only that, she has also started other businesses on the side in the food & beverage and designer jewelry industry.
Now she lives in Malvern with her husband and two children and says that working from home is the norm. “I’ve also been to almost every cafe in Melbourne as I use them as my office,” she said with a chuckle.
The driven woman and mother always wanted to achieve what she has ever since she landed her first job.
“I always believe that you have to work with what you’ve got as anything can happen. Sometimes things don’t go as planned and you have to be positive and stay true to your vision no matter how hard things get. Always be thankful and grateful.”.
